Hyderabad:A painting and essay writing competition for schoolchildren was held at the Jawahar Bal Bhavan in Public Gardens on august 11th to create awareness among them about renewable energy sources.More than 300 students from 100 schools in the city participated in the competition organized together by the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Non-Conventional Energy Development Corporation of AP (NEDCAP) and Confederation of Voluntary Associations (COVA).
The winners will be awarded prizes by Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy on August 20, the birthday of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, which is celebrated each year as ‘Renewable Energy Day’.
